Well I had PT today and I was really wondering how I was doing, so I asked my PT how she thought my quads were fairing out.. (My Surgion said that the problem was my quads were way to weak, and i needed to start jogging to build them up..when i cant even walk without a limp haha) Anyways, she goes "Your quads are wonderful. I have never seen such strong legs on a girl of 14 and your not going to get them any stronger either because they are about at their max." I was kinda taken aback seeing as I had been told completely different before, so I told her what my surgion said she simply replied "nope, your quads arent the problem now they are very strong so its something inside your knee and obviously strenghtening your quads doesn't help it."
Must say, Im glad to hear my quads are strong! And its good to know for the next time the doc. says "You need to strenghten your quads" uhh sorry buddy..they are strong! Woohoo! im so relieved to know that my quads are strong lol I had to tell evefyone

Krista,
Hey, good news - strong quads. That is really good stuff.... Maybe it is still your MCL that is causing your knee problems. Hope that your OS can find out what is going on at your next visit.
Good luck to you.

Krista -
If you haven't already, have your PT call your doctor's office, or write a report on your progress. A few people have mentioned this, and at worst, it will force your OS to recognize what the PT is saying.
Good luck with everything.

Excellent news. It's great when something goes right (even if it does mean the doc was wrong!)
What we all want to know is how did you get them to be so strong?
Was it just the standard exercises or did you do extra stuff??

Sparkle- Well I did PT in the summer and I think that defiently strenghtened my quads alot. Doing leg lifts and stuff, i dont rlly remember the other stuff. But back im my soccer days i went to the gym 3x a week and of course soccer helps the quads so thats prolly how!

you can never have enough strenth in your quads. try doing small leg weights ( presses ) and that will help.. But there is no MAX trust me..
