anyone taken SPzyme for post op recovery?
« on: May 18, 2005, 08:48:18 PM »
I'm going in for arthroscope surgery tomorrow: I have a chondral defect on my lateral femoral condyle.

Post operation a good friend has suggested I take SPzyme to assist in the recovery.....has anyone experience of this and did it help with the inflammation? ???

I've never heard of SPzyme.  You may want to ask your surgeon.

WHat procedure are you having done to repair the lfc?
ACI was supposed to be 2/21/06.  On 6/29/06 Insurance co said have another scope, and if it still looks good, they'll ok the ACI.
Microfracture Dec 7, 2004
3cm x 6cm lesion, LFC; 3cm x 1cm lesion, trochlear groove; lateral tibial plateau lesion
2nd degree black belt, tae kwon do (had to stop)

found out what it is:

SPzyme
This powerful anti-inflammatory product contains Serrapeptase, a naturally occurring proteolytic enzyme secreted by the silkworm. Serrapeptase has been used extensively throughout Europe, Japan and America for some twenty five years as an alternative to aspirin, Ibuprofen and NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and is processed commercially today through fermentation.
Various trials have shown that Serrapeptase digests non-living tissue, blood clots, cysts, arterial plaque and inflammation in all forms. It can also dramatically reduce the elasticity and viscosity of nasal mucus, easing sinus problems.

Hmmmmmm
