Old Pain That Will Not Go Away

Hello I'am new to this and I hope someone can help. I'am 28 and I've had this problem with both of my knees the pain is under my kneecap and feels like it slips when I bend my knee and it pops very loud.  When it pops the pain stops for a min. and then I need to pop it over and over until it stops hurting.  My right knee will shift to the inside and pop the left one always pops up and down, both knees feel like sometimes they are going to give and I'am going to fall.  I was in the Marines for 4 years and we would run about 4 times a week at around 3 miles at a time, now that I'am out and I'am on my feet all day it hurts I need to set or I feel like Iam going to fall down.  Can someone please tell me what they think might be the problem, should I see a Doc, and do you think he or she could help. Thank you.

Hey, im not sure whats wrong with your knee. You may have mal-tracking from the souns of the ccracking and the kneecap movemnet, but Im not sure. I definetly think you should go see an OS or sports injury doctor. Hope everything goes well, good luck

Thank you for the re. I'am going to see a OS in 2 days for the first time.  Anything important that I may need to tell him.

Its good you got an appt. so quickly! Just be sure to tell him all of your symptoms, and pretty much what you wrote here. He may prescribe an MRI and PT is my guess. Good luck @ ur appt.

 what you hav written down here is a good description of your symptoms.Make sure you write down all your questions now as you think of them and while they are fresh in your mind. Otherwise you will probably forget when you are in the room with the OS. Good thing you are going in!  I would try to avoid any squatting or kneeling and use your arms to get out of chairs to keep the strain of bending off the knee.
