Can fibro make your legs hurt worse?
« on: April 21, 2005, 07:10:40 PM »
Hello all, My Gp says that I have fibro,,,,,,,, just what I need on top of 2 bad knees and a bad ankle. I ask this question because for the last 2 days, my life has been H*ll. I am in pain management but it isnt touching it this week. I have not done anything to aggravate my knees but they are killing me. Dont laugh but my toes are even cramping. How weird is that. I know that it is supposed to rain tomorrow and that can effect it but this is the worst that it has been in a long time.
So ,,,,,, the question is.......... can firbro make you legs hurt worse?
thanks for any suggestions

I don't have any answers for you, but just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear this - I hope you get some answers and relief soon.

Pam.

Fibro is diagnosed by having pain in I think it is 11 of 18 "tenderspots". Very common ones are in the shoulders and hips. I know there are some in the elbows and I know there are also some spots in the legs but I can't remember exactly where in the legs. Do a google  search on the fibro pain chart, you should be able to find a map of the spots.

I know about the pain spots and the dr says that my muscle spasms are the result of the fibro but so far , it had mostly effected my back, neck, shoulders, chest area (and quad muscles) I just wondered if it could also irritate my knees.

misssy

I would think that spasms or trigger points in the quads could affect the knee because the quads do attach into the knee joint. I am prone to TP in my traps and will notice sometimes that it causes numbness in my hands because of pressure on the underlying nerves. Good Luck to you,
Becky
