Just curious
« on: April 20, 2005, 09:50:57 PM »
im just curious to see what some people think in here about whats wrong with my knee, but my MRI came back normal showing only that my kneecap had been disloaced and was still sublexed. So, here is what I expirence with my knee:

*Giving out
*Locking, sometimes for 1 hour, sometimes for a few days
*Constant Aching and pain
*When walking down stairs, my knee feels as if it will give out
*Pain on the inside of left knee about mid-way down and pain just below the kneecap and near the very bottom of the kneecap.
*When I stand with my knee straight and then go to twist, I get a very sharp pain and if feels as though my bones and rubbing as I twist.
*After sitting for not even a long time anymore, my knee feesl like there is a huge bubble in it and I have to straighten it for it to crack. This happens alot more often now, and only started when I hurt my knee.
*Mild swelling on the inside of knee
*Pain sometimes when getting out of a chair, going up stairs
*Pain worse with activity
*Kneecap sublexes very often, I usually have to push it back in by myself
*Feels like the top half of my leg 'slides' on the bottom part.

Im just curious to see what different answers com up. anyways, ahvea great night everyone!

Sounds to me like pretty classic Patello Femoral Dysfunction .  I mean everyone will be a little different and the locking is interesting... I mean I don't get Locking I get catching that really hurts and agravates my knee when my kneecap goes awol but not actual locking. However the rest of it would fit, especially the going down stairs part, I have to hang on to railings, walls, my fiance and  go kind of side stepping down otherwise I might just vomit from the sensations in my left knee.

Goodluck today at the OS, hopefully you'll get some answers and some help

Hi, that could be me also.  The difference with me though is that climbing stairs is very difficult for me.  I get horrible pain in front of leg just below patella and also pain in back of knee with any step climb, by the time I am finished climbing the pain is dibilitating, but goes after resting.
Guess we have very similar symptoms like Linds said - I have had locking while climbing stairs - that really can create havoc and loads of pain.

Hope that you get some answers today at your meeting with the OS.  Keep us posted.

Sending hugs,  ;)
