Knee problem?
« on: April 19, 2005, 08:42:16 AM »
I am 58 and a very keen tennis player. Lately I have experienced pain when I wake up on the side of one knee which goes when I move. I also have the sensation when walking/playing of the knee feeling it might give way when i put pressure on it. Any ideas?

Is the pain on the lateral side, That's the outside of the leg, or the medial side, the side that faces the other leg?  The site in which the pain occurs is the most important when considering what the cause may be.  Are there are any noises or sensations of grinding , catching , locking associated with this problem? Does the pain resolve completely when you've moved around a little ?
Is there anything you do that will re create the pain you feel when you first wake up in the morning?
