Popliteal cyst problem
« on: April 14, 2005, 03:19:41 PM »
I don't know if it is just a symptom of the Baker's Cyst but I have clicking, locking and pain and swelling where I had my meniscus surgery 15 yrs. ago. Seeing an Orthopod tomorrow, but a little nervous. Can anyone give me any ideas of what all this is?

I had a Bakers cyst about 20 yrs ago. It swelled terribly and got to the point that I could not squat or even bend my knee. Thank goodness, it ruptured but that HURT. I had another come up afterwards and I went straight to a surgeon and had it cut out before it became symptomatic. It never returned. I dont remember any locking but it did hurt so badly that I could not bend my knee.

The bakers cyst can definately be a symptom of cartilage and or mensicus damage. It is possible that you have another meniscus tear.  Or something else going on in there.
I hope that you get some good news tommorow..or helpful anyway
