tibia head pain
« on: April 14, 2005, 06:10:40 AM »
Yesterday I knelt on the floor with my knees and there was this tremendous sharp pain in the right knob in the head of my tibia where it was contacting the floor.  My left knee felt fine but in the right knee it felt painful even though both knees were holding the same pressure against the floor.  The pain isn't internal like in the joint but feels painful on the surface of the bone.  If i keep kneeling, the pain hurts so bad it sort of goes numb.  Perhaps a nerve is smushed or something?

Since yesterday, there has been some discoloration on the area that hurts, it kind of looks like bruising and its swelling a little bit.

That is my right knee.  The area circled is where it hurts.

The red circle in this picture is an anatomical reference of where I think the pain is.

Any replies would be welcome.  Do you think this is a stress fracture because I do do sports that are high impact to my feet and knees?  It only hurts when I kneel on the floor or put direct pressure on that area.  Since it is swelling a bit, when I'm walking it hurts a bit also.
