Meniscocapsular separation
« on: March 31, 2005, 08:08:53 PM »
Help! Wondering if anyone could help me in getting an understanding on this condition. My OS has a good feeling this is what I have and that's without looking at my MRI (should be getting a call from him today). Would like a heads up on what I'm getting myself into. Nervous  :-\.  I already know what it means (meniscus separated from the joint capsule, etc).  Would like to know any info on the kind of procedure necessary and rehab (in particular how long I may have to be on crutches). Anyone have any experience, unfortunately? This will be my 3 surgery on this left knee (I've also had one on my right - plica). I'm only 23!!. I've had 2 scopes previously on this left knee (meniscus tears), but the pain never went away.  I was a student-athlete (basketball) and I assumed it was from not giving my knee enough time to get back its strength. Any information anyone can give would be sooo helpful!
