A few questions
« on: March 02, 2005, 04:13:19 PM »
Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. I have a few questions if anyone can help. I had my mensicus repair and microfracture 4&1/2 weeks ago. I have 2 more weeks on crutches. After 6&1/2 weeks on crutches am I going to be moved to PWB with crutches, a cane, or just told to walk? My OS told me that at some point I may need another procedure done to increase the space behind my patella. He described it as shaving down the anterior tibia and lifting it outwards (anteriorly) to pull the patella outwards. Is this a TTT or are those just for medial realignments. It seems like most people on here have them done for medial corrections. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Becky

I believe the procedure to raise the patella is a Maquet procedure.  It is used most commonly for patients with patello Femoral osteo arthritis. ::)
You will probably go to partial weight bearing before you lose the crutches completely...

Hope that helps and goodluck
