I Can't Bend My Knee
« on: February 28, 2005, 12:34:51 AM »
HI THERE.....CAME HERE SEEKING HELP:

I cannot bend my knee. This began last Spring has not gotten better. Shortly before the problem began I started a program of HIGH DOSAGES OF BETA BLOCKERS and other BLOOD PRESSURE REDUCING Meds. I noticed general weakening of muscles in my body at that time. I have since regained muscle strength, and have lost 100lbs to help the BP

I have had MRI, XRAY, visits w/ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS, NEROLOGISTS, RHEUMATOLOGISTS and my Intern. Not a decisive answer as to why I CANNOT BEND MY KNEE!

I have had Injections of LIDOCAINE and CORTISONE in the knee....no effect.

The MRI shows some tearing to MENISCUS and some ARTHRITIS PRESENT.... but there is also ARTHRITIS in good knee.

QUESTION:

Is ARTHROSCOPIC EXPLORATORY SURGERY the way to go?

I have just begun ROLFING and there is some improvement..... does this really work?

I'm open to all suggestions!

THANKS

MARK
