meniscus tear?
« on: February 24, 2005, 06:21:21 PM »
hey,
On Monday feb. 21 i got a straight pin in my knee about 1 1/2 inches in the knee cap.  i got it pulled out by my step dad.  however, my knee cap went up when he pulled it out.  i have been having problems with this knee for over a year and a half, and i was on crutches all that time.  a couple weeks ago i was given a brace that locked so my knee wouldnt give out.  but since i got the pin pulled out i have been unable to walk on it.  there is alot of pain down below the kneecap.  it is possibly i did something to my meniscus?

yes i did.  she said that she did think that it could damage anything.  and that all the pain was from the pin going into the bone.  however, today i got a call from the doctors office saying to call them back for the date and time of the appointment they had made for a othopedic surgon.

best to let an os have a look at it..could be several things that can result from any work done in that area...i would defn'ly wait to see what the os says...at the very least an ortho exam where a general knee examination and test for stability will allow the doc to decide the next step...

good luck
