1st March 2005 - Appointment with Rheumatologist
« on: February 07, 2005, 01:11:02 PM »
Seeing Rheumatologist at local hospital to discuss treatment for Fibromyalgia which he diagnosed in December 2003.† I need much better care, especially when I experience a crisis.

I hope that he can help me, especially as my Pain Management Doctor has said to me that Fibromyalgia is something that is diagnosed when they don't know what else is wrong with you.† GREAT.† Makes me feel so much better.

Wow Shade - you are quick!† ;D ;)

I hope that he will be able to help me with my medication as the pain management doctor isn't very good.† She wanted to stop the Fentanyl/Duralgesic patches and put me on some new drug that she didn't know anything about.† I told her that she can find another dummy to try out a new drug.† I've had enough problems already with drugs.† When I was taking one drug, it made me have black outs.† Not good when your knees are bad anyway, let alone falling on them when you black out!†

Hugs back  :-* Lizzie xx

Hey Lizzie !!

Whatever you pain doc is saying you really should go see this rheaumatologist.
I have had so many different diagnoses for my body so you can't count them. Once upon a time I also had problems with many of my joints and was diagnosed with a rheaumatic disease, can't remember which. Anyway some years later after treatment with injections and meds I were skiing downhills and hurt my knee. Then I met a new doc rheuma and he said you haven't gone any rheuma disease !! Vry odd cause the other 2 docs who diagnosed me is 2 of the leading ones in this area in my country !!
So if you get treatment for some diagnose and you get better of it, then just go for it.
These docs are alsovery good at just joints and meds.
I hope you get good help.

Hugs Nettan

Thanks for your reply.  I will bear what you have to say in mind.

I will be fully prepared when I see him next, cos' I'm going to be going with my mom.  She is great at dealing with people.  I never used to take her along to my appointments because I could deal with things myself, but now that I have Fibromyalgia, I don't seem to be as confident and I get a lot of brain fog and forget what I want to say.

I shall make sure that I know everything I need to know about what I have got wrong and what medication I can have.  At the moment, I am unable to drive when it gets dark and it gets dark around 5.00 pm here so it means that I don't get out as often as I like, but then also, the pain stops me from getting out as much as well.

I hate having Fibromyalgia, I hate being in constant pain, I hate having terrible knees, I hate not being able to run or play the sports I used to.  I hate not being able to live a normal life.  I hate hating things!!!  I'm not usually a negative person either! LOL  ;)
