From your OP report it sounds like your kneecap is not tracking correctly and this can cause pain.
"showed the patella tracked in the subluxared position"
Did your OS do anything to adress this? A lateral release may help.
I have had multiple meniscus surgeies and it took me about 18 months to recover from that one. That was so frustrating and I wasn't sure if it was normal. I went to a pain specialist and with a lot of time and patience :P I finally started to feel better.
