Heather

Remember the old saying "If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again"  Don't beat yourself up over this.  At least you are attempting to give up and maybe you need to reduce and reduce till you don't need any more, rather than go cold turkey.

You have all my support as with all you guys that are trying to quit smoking.

God bless .... Lizzie xx

WOW!!   You have been doing really terrific.  Know that all this is much harder than it seems, especially when we are also trying to cope with the knee pain and also trying to lose the weight.

Great job Natalie,

Shade

Hi All....

Well, I have reached a little milestone....4 months and three days since I quit smoking....Very rarely do I ever feel like a smoke anymore.  I know there is more surgery in my near future - I just do not know which leg will be operated on first.....There is absolutely no way that I plan on quitting again.

Think that I have quit so many times that I can not keep track, do not know why it worked this time, but I am glad that it did.  Maybe because we are writing all this stuff down, maybe that is why it makes a difference.  Whatever it is it has worked....

Good luck to everyone who is trying to quit....we will help you whenever you decide it is time....

Hi everyone,

Well, I have reached another milestone.  The five month mark rolled by yesterday the 14th Sept.

I have not had one cigarette in all this time and do not plan on starting again.

Good luck to everyone who has quit or is about to quit smoking.  If I could quit believe me anyone on this planet can.....

Hugs,

Shade

Well done Shade, thats brilliant - keep up the good work, its all worth it isn't it.

I'm at the 4 month mark and still going strong - find it hard at times of stress or partying! but think everyone does.  Like you I have no intention of going back to my old filthy ways  ;D

 YAHOO  ;D

On Sept 17 2005 it will be a full 3 years of fresh air for me. I have no intentions of ever starting to smoke again. I did enjoy it at the time but I love waking up and not having to hack nor cough. I rarely ever have to clear my throat( true hey) . My house, clothes and need say car smell divine!!
I encourage you all to a great start and a new beginning!! It may be tough at first but it is worth the effort!! I am so glad I did it. If any of you have any Q's I am willing to help. Take care.

Durring the tempting times I had, I would imagine a cigarette in front of me and ask this " Who is going to rule? This smoke or me? And who has the brain anyways? I DO!! " It is all about the controll. I did gain 20 lbs and didn't have the greatest year at first but trust me, it gets better and better with time. If you want to snack, eat the good foods. Unprocessed is also best. An apple or raw nuts for example. I have lost alot of the weight now and am in better shape as I ever was. So hang in there. You can do it.
