What kind of brace
« on: January 15, 2005, 09:42:05 PM »
I am on Monday be fitted for a "hinged knee brace".
I know that there are lots of companies making these types of braces.
Can anyone recommend one brand so that when I go to be fitted I can make sure I get one that is not junk.

btw this brace is to stabilize my leg after a patella fx.

Thanks

It would depends what the brace was being used for. My favorite braces are Breg, it's a good company and they definately stand behind their products.

I have also had experience with Donjoy and these braces are also good quality.

You might want to try setting up a post under the "knee brace" bulletin board, you might find some information there.

Not familure with the Bledsloe. I have the DonJoy TROM.  It's fine comfort wise, but the brace is one size fits all.  The velcro wears out quickly and it slides down the leg a lot. The hinges are fine. DonJoy does have a warrenty on the TROMs and great customer service.
