How do you build up your knees ?

Hello everyone !  :)

Was wondering if anybody knew some exercises or other ways in which to build up the muscles around your knees along with strengthening the tendon's and ligaments.

Would like to try to REALLY build them up as I have weak knees so any websites, links or leaflet downloads, I don't know, Anything ! would be a great help.

Hope this might help you some.  Welcome to the board.

Physical Therapists have many exercise programs that might benefit you.  You can get a referral from your GP.

I was trying to build up the knees and body in general. After three meniscus operations I was wondering if  a rowing machine would have a negative impact on the knees.
I was informed that the knee-bend action of the rower would aggravate my knees, due to the bending at greater than a 90 degree angle. My next option ( more expensive) is the ellipital trainer. Is this a better solution. I think I will use the rowing machine more. It won't help if I do not use it.

Thanks for the link, I can definitely use some help stretching the ilio-tibial band  ;D
April 14th, 2004: Floor hockey accident, complete ACL tear (left knee).
June 11th, 2004: ACL reconstruction, patellar tendon autograft.
January 21st, 2005: Cyclops Lesion removal
