opinions please
« on: January 07, 2005, 02:19:17 PM »
I would like some fellow kneegeeks opinions please. I have had multiple surgeries on my left knee and right ankle. My right knee is now going down hill fast. It hurts more than my left (which was injured in the accident). My question is purely an opinion question. Should I see my GP about it or make the loooonnnng drive to the OS in another state. I am unsure what is exactly wrong with the right knee other than over use.

I just wondered what everyone thought was the best approach.
thanks for your thoughts

Missy

I would go to my OS, but I don't think my GP is that good with ortho stuff. ???

If you have confidence in your GP start there, if anything showes up go to the OS.

Wishing you smoth sailing and good knee days. 8)

Hey Missy !!

If you are quite sure you haven't damaged the knee or have on old injury which can have flared up again maybe GP is enough for now. But you know how these knees are and if your GP isn't so good at it why not see the OS immediately then you know what's going on. No guess and no doubt how the knee is.
I think it's worth the drive.
Good luck !! Hope all is that you have overdone it.

Ok folks, I have decided to talk to my GP just to get his opinion on this. IF my OS wasnt 4 1/2 hrs away, I would go ahead and make an appt but , it cant hurt just to listen to my GP. If GP thinks that I need tomake an appt with OS, I will go ahead and do that. Wish me luck

I would call the OS office and ask if they thought I ought to be seen.  I used to do that because it cost me more money to see the OS than it did my GP.

Good luck.
