Knee Brace Question
« on: January 16, 2005, 09:42:31 PM »
I am on Monday be fitted for a "hinged knee brace".
I need the brace because of an accident I had which left me with a fractured patella, now held together with screws, wire, glue.
I know that there are lots of companies making these types of braces.
Can anyone recommend one brand so that when I go to be fitted I can make sure I get one that is not junk.
Also can some of them get wet like in the shower?

Thanks

Ed

I can tell you that there are a few very good brace manufacturers around.

They are

1. Innovations Sports
2. Bioskin
3. Donjoy
4. Breg
5. Generation II
6. Bledsoe

These are just half a dozen good brace manufacturers that produce excellent, sturdy and well manufactured braces of all varieties from just sleeves to professional braces.  They are certainly not junk.

I'm not sure whether they can get wet, as in using in a shower.  Perhaps other kneegeeks will be able to advise you.

Wishing you well with your appointment.
