Any clues what might be wrong with my good knee?
« on: December 01, 2004, 05:40:57 PM »
Hi guys, I am having a hard time with my " good" knee. It is terribly stiff. If I sit with it bent for 10 minutes, it hurts alot to try and walk afterwards. It hurts so bad that I have a very noticable limp for about 5 minutes until I can stretch it back out. It feels like it doesnt want to support me until I stretch it. I have never had an injury to it but it is overused compensating for the bad one. I have tried heat and take anti inflammatories daily ( supposedly for the bad knee). My good one actually hurts more than the bad one now and I am terrified of letting the OS see it.  Most of the pain is in the back of the knee and I have no clue what that might be.

Any ideas? Any suggestions? I realize that you guys are not drs but I am wondering how long it would be safe to put off going to the OS about it. OH yes, this might help. the weather absolutely effects it. The more cold and damp it is, the more stiff my knee is. It is more stiff than the over operated one.

HELP PLEASE

thanks
missy

ONe more thing, standing (like standing to cook dinner) has exactly the same effect. The knee gets really stiff and doesnt want to bend.  I also have a strong ache in the knee just sitting here at the computer. Does this sound like maybe arthritus? I have no idea.

thanks for any help

Your knee sounds like mine.  Dear old Arthritis is my problem. ??? ???  You may be getting a little arthritis especially since you have relied so much on this leg for so long.

Putting off seeing a OS will not make your knee improve!  I know I postponed too long and now need 2 new knees.:o   Who knows, maybe its something that is easy to treat.  Don't beat yourself up emotionally by worryng.

Wishing you GOOD KNEE DAYS.  :) :-* :D

Many hugs

I am afraid that my good knee might have arthritus. What can an OS do for it? I cannot do surgery again anytime soon. I will go nuts if I do. I take antiinfammatories, what else can I do?

thanks for the reply
