Turkey: white meat or dark meat???
« on: November 20, 2004, 01:35:30 AM »
Since it is close to turkey day here in the US I was wondering what everybody's preference was.

I like dark meat.

I'm not picky...  Either one is good.  I LOVE turkey-time!  Ah, what glorious things you can do with leftover yard-brid!  Turkey-mashed potato-gravy sandwiches, turkey quesadillas, turkey salad, turkey-ala-king, turkey noodle soup, straight up turkey at 3 am....

Ooh, but I am hoping my host will deep-fry a Tur-Duck-en this year!  They are soooo delicious!

Many hugs!  And Happy Thanksgiving!

White meat for me...

You guys like Tur-Duck-en?  I though it was icky, but it could have been the way the Hubby cooked it that one year.   ;D

It sounds like a cross between Turkey Duck and Chicken!, maybe our friends from across the pond have some funny breeds of birdies which we dont know about??  You know, like the Zeedonk, a cross-breed of zebra and donkey!.

Dont know, please tell us...by the way is there chocolate in the recipe??

Heather ;)

PS: I love a turkey, stuffing and cranberry butty on nice fresh homemade bread. :D

turducken is a chicken stuffed into a duck which is then stuffed into a turkey.  its actually pretty good, but it takes a very long time to cook

Turducken - the origional was boneless - chicken in a duck in a turkey with 3 different dressings.  Takes forever to cook, but it is soooo.... good!

Please, DO NOT EVER fry a tyrkey in the kitchen.  Even the electric turkey friers would be dangerous just because of all the oil.  You need 3-4 gallons to fry a 10-12 pound bird.  They are very good.

Love white meat if it's jucy but dark is also just fine.

If I'm eating meat, guess it would be lamb chops with a bit of salt and mustard on ;) - add to that a bit of chinese stir fry and a bread cob.
