Patella Tendon
« on: November 07, 2004, 05:15:57 PM »
I was told i had patella tendonitis (sp) in my right knee 7 months ago.  after runnin, skiing and cycling for many years I felt a sharp pain in patella tendon while climbing stairs.  I had x-ray and MRI (altho I am not MRI was actually reviewed by radiologist) and was told there was no tear.  I have been to 4 PTs over this period, tried only cycling (with Cho Pat) and finally over last two weeks, resting knee completely.  PTs have tried ice, heat, iso, ultra sound and MDs gave me two doses of anti-inflamatory.  nothing has help, whats worse, I woke up last nite with pain in LEFT knee (formerly the good knee)- i know i favor that leg (latest PT noted my left leg is now much larger than my right...)
I am REALLY losing it.   I dont know where to turn.  Left knee is now WORSE than right and I cant even go from standing to sitting without a lot of pain.
any ideas?  wheelchair?  go back to bike/stretching?
everyone says if i lay off completely it will get better - I did (except for walking) and it got worse
