Sutures.....that are still there!
« on: November 06, 2004, 09:08:53 PM »
Ok, I've had a funny couple of weeks.....
As a few of you know, my dissolvable sutures haven't dissolved and i was put on iv antibiotics, now twice. Well I got sent home on oral and things were going well, I even started ballet again and a have a strange feeling of being very much alive again, rather than just exising! and have turned my room into a physio gym! Things are looking up.
Well I've been off antibiotics now for 5 days and I've started to puss again?.........but I don't think that going on antibiotics will do any good as the suture material is still there as I can see it under the skin and its still all inflammed and hot, but this is how its going to be until the material comes out?

Does anyone else have any suggestion on how to get the stuff out?

Basically, you need to return to your surgeon. Sounds like you are having a reaction to the suture if not an infection that has yet to clear. See your surgeon!
