Bone grafting
« on: November 02, 2004, 06:59:54 AM »

I had an accident 2 years ago while driving 2-wheeler crashed with a bull on the road.

Right femur was broken at one place and knee was dislocated.

Doctors placed a rod and put 2screws at both the ends, one at uper thigh and another end at knee.

There was almost a gap of 2 centimeters between the broken parts of femur.

This broken parts have not yet joined and the gap is still there. Doctors removed 2 screws of thigh after one year thinking bone will get fixed due to body weight. I can walk straight with slight pain sometimes. I do not have any other physical problem except depression.

Doctors are planning bone grafting. They say that that they are not sure whether bone is joined or not as x-ray from one angel shows bone is joined and in perfect line; but it shows a crack from another angle. Both legs are in proper shape.

Is it the only solution? Is it safe? Will it create no further problem? Will it solve the problem? Will I need no further operation after that?

I will be thankful if anyone reply me on my email [email protected]
