I am 62 and have worn down all of the cartilage on the inside (medial?) of my right knee. My father is 82 and just had his second TKR.

My knee hurts. I can't walk too far without pain. It swells up and I ice it down. This has had a negative impact on my life.

I have read what I can find on Salumedica and they seem to be getting closer to FDA approval of the Salucartilage product.

Should I consider a TKR or wait for FDA approval of their product. Any idea when the surgery will available in the US?

Thank you

I had an OATS proceedure done in August 2004 with a product that is similar.  they are awaiting fda approval too.
I am really happy with my results. my knee where my lesions were feel great. I think its worth a try.
here's to hopeing tomorrow will be pain free :)
