Hi All,
I just received my appt referral for a new OS. He's in Woodland Hills, CA. I paid $7.95 for an online report. He gets an above average rating from his patients, had no formal complaints against him (it's a pretty thorough report), but it doesn't say whether or not he's a KNEE specialist. Of course he's a board certified O.S. practicing 20yrs. I'm sort of at the mercy of my insurance here. (Kaiser) I've printed a lot of notes from this site and will try to put some order to them to look at least a little educated. I really wanted to discuss PFR options as I've been told by all the O.S's that my arthritus does not warrant a BTKR. Actually, anything that might alleviate some pain would be a HUGE gift. If he says there is no help for me, I'll ask if he'll give me a referral to an outside specialist. I don't know if that will work. The drive for me is 90 min. so location is pretty good. I'm nervous. My last O.S. appt I broke down and cried cause he said I was SOL. Then he told me to get off the meds and take glucosimine (sp). It's been my primary care doc and pain management doc who have encouraged me to keep seeking help. They don't like the amount of narcs I'm on. Methadone, according to my pm doc, is my only option left. I don't like the sound of that. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. My appt. is Nov 8th. Thank you my friends. Hoping for pain free days for you all.
