Knees keep giving way, any ideas please
« on: October 07, 2004, 07:49:51 PM »
I am having a problem with both my knees, and I am not sure whether to go to the doctors.  They both keep giving way (almost bending backwards as if double jointed!)  Does anyone have any ideas what this may be.  I do not have any pain at the front of my knee (kneecap area), just the backs of my knees.  ???

I dont have much of an answer besides possible ligament issues, perhaps some muscle imbalance. You ought to go see a doc and get a consult. That's the best way to get a diagnosis.
multiple arthroscopies 2/00,3/01,6/01,1/03, 12/07,10/10. chondromalacia, severe medial joint space narrowing following 3 partial menisectomies, chronic pain problems, kneecap problems, OCD lesion, failed mfx.

Lph..If you are in your teens I wouldnt just go to a GP.. I went to one about that and they just put it down to me growing.. Maybe go to Physio and see what they think?
I also bandage my knees pretty heavily, it doesnt stop it fully, put it stops me from falling to the ground. :)

Goodluck!
