Title: Partial tear of patellar tendon PRP or surgery
Post by: WMTS Guy on October 31, 2017, 03:01:01 PM
I am 39yo male after 10 months of PT and NSAIDs i was finally given an MRI to discover i have a 1cm tear in my patellar tendon. Has anyone had success with PRP? I am concerned about the long recovery with surgery.

Platelet Rich Plasma

Often used in tendinitis (less so in UK, NHS doesn't cover generally outside a trial)

Did you have the PRP shot or surgery?  I have a 1.5CM tear in my Quad tendon after 2 surgeries to repair the initial rupture Jan 2017.

I have 2 options  being discussed

1 scope to remove scar tissue with a PRP to follow

2 Revision surgery with a graph.

I was wondering if you had the PRP shot, did you have any success?
