Title: Spain was great!
Post by: Janet on March 09, 2004, 03:46:53 PM
I can't believe how much walking I did! The cortisone shot really worked. It took a full week for it to "kick in"....I was worried it wasn't going to make a difference. But I didn't have the catching or the pain, and I was able to be on my feet and walk more than I have in the last five years! I still couldn't do the stairs, but I haven't been able to do them at home, either. I was determined I was going to do this trip no matter what, and I would pay for it when I got home. I can't say my knee is feeling great, but it's not too bad. It was a big success! Now if only it would last....but I know it's only temporary.

Spain is definitely not the place to go if you can't walk. It is very hilly and they do not have accommodations for disabilities....not at all wheelchair friendly. I could not have even thought about this vacation before my last surgery, and would not have been able to make it without the cortisone shot. It was so great to see my daughter again....only seven more weeks and she'll be home!

Hey !!

Great news !! The Canarie Islands is better if you are going here. They have hotel, big areas around great also for wheelchair users. We up from north of Europe go there for rehab.
Send me some warm weather from Spain please. We have 5 plus celsius and windy and still snow.
Anyway hope you still feel great.
