Title: Tibial tubercle osteotomy
Post by: kayleighpaul85 on May 05, 2017, 12:44:14 PM
I am due to have a Tibial tubercle osteotomy on my left knee following one being done on my right knee being done 5 years ago.

This will be my 5th operation under surgeon Mr Eldridge and I have been told the waiting list is currently 10 months - a year which seems crazy!!

Is anyone else on the waiting list with this surgeon?

Am I right in thinking you need to wear a brace for 6-8 weeks after the Tibial tubercle osteotomy to allow the screws to heal in the bone?

And last time I had to take 12 weeks off work - is this still correct from experience?

Thanks :)

Every surgeon has his own protocol, but this might give you an idea:
