Title: Ossur CTi OA knee brace
Post by: Bardlas on April 19, 2017, 10:12:09 PM
Hi Guys,

Can someone advise if Ossur CTi OA (Vapor/Satandard/Pros Sport) knee brace requires custom fitting or could be purchased based on the size and self-adjusted ? The description says "CTi? OA?s composite shells can be constructed with up to 7˚ of varus or valgus correction..", so I was not sure about this part.
I also see a note on Amazon:
"THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO PHYSICIANS AND LICENSED PROFESSIONAL FITTERS". I was wondering if someone was able to get one in the US without involving a physician or physical therapist etc.

Thank you!

Hey Bardlas,

In the UK and looking at getting a CTI OA myself.  I think the 7deg of correction is referring to if you have slight bow legged or knock knees.

I don't know much about the off the shelf vs the custom, I plan to go custom, would much rather be fitted by a professional and not risk further injury with a poorly fitted unit.
