Title: Can't close knee fully for 6 months now..
Post by: Mlmusic on December 24, 2015, 11:39:27 AM
I have generally had pretty good knees. No major issues. Did have patella tendinitis in my left a few years against but that's long gone. Right has always been fine. I also go to the gym regularly and have very strict squat form - just past parallel but no bouncing off my knees or anything like that. Controlled and steady.

About six months ago, I was working on a platform that's about 2m high. I jumped off it several times with no noticeable pain or anything significant. In the process, it's likely my calves bounced off my hamstrings with a bit of force. Now I don't know for sure if this resulted in the injury as there was never any pain, but it's my best guess.

So, the result... Right knee. Zero pain in normal operation, squatting, bending, fully straightening. Everything about is perfect, except it can no longer fully close the last 5 degrees. My knee stops allowing bending just shy of my weight starting to rest on my calf. It's a sharp pain the dead centre inside of my knee joint that increases as I try to force further. I have to be careful in everyday life to never accidentally let full weight on it as its agony and forces me to collapse briefly. It still doesn't fully close in that process. So, any ideas what might be causing it?! I should get it checked out properly but have gotten around to it yet as it isn't an everyday issue and doesn't normally cause pain unless I push it...

Cheers

It's been 6 months, go see a knee spcialist, MRI might be helpful too

Good luck :)
