Title: lateral femoral condyle cartilage allograft in 3 days! Please provide advice
Post by: fishes on November 02, 2013, 10:04:56 PM
I am very nervous.  I got the call yesterday for an allograft on Wed but don't even feel like I really know that much about the recovery from the procedure.  Can anyone provide insight?  What are the best crutches?

Have a look through this specific forum and also the post op diaries

I expect you'll be in a brace, non weight bearing for a significant period and have a prescribed physio program.  I discussed MACI on a similar defect, not quite the same but this is what I was told to expect at the time, plus a 24 month recovery period

Best to discuss all the ins and outs with your surgeon and PT, as there will be differences in protocols

Good luck :)
