Title: 16 yo daughter needs allograft
Post by: xclaxmom on July 14, 2013, 04:45:50 PM
Well we've seen a couple of different doctors since her previous OS did a microfracture  and lateral release on her in November. The Drs. say she needs allograft because her defect is osteochondral and due to the bone being injured, other treatments won't work.
Now the waiting game begins. Hopefully insurance will approve it. I'm not quite sure because when other Dr. did microfracture, he also biopsied for ACI. I guess we'll see.

I am in the same situation. I have been waiting for a donor almost a year(11 months) here in Canada with Dr Allan Gross. Its really hard this situation even worse when I am alone because I am not from here(Brazil) nd my visa will expire in January 2015(I hope we find a donor until there)! Good luck for both us! Where does she live? Thanks!
