Title: Chondromalacia and patellar tendonitis - any advice?
Post by: SLA75 on March 16, 2012, 01:01:47 AM
Hi my name is Angela. 37yrs old from Australia. I have had knee pain for 18mths worse in right. Have always played sport, including netball and jogging and tennis. Now I cannot walk without pain. It is constant. Pain in kneecaps. Jarring/ banging pain. I gave up sport 1 yr ago.
Much physio - told to strengthen quads by squats,  then knee surgeon said don't bend down! Then told to 'get over it' and enjoy my kids. A bit hard to enjoy life when you cannot move!
No surgery yet. MRI of chondromalacia but also suspect patellar tendonitis. Latest dr doing PRP injections but no help yet.
I would love advice on whether cartilage transplant surgery may help or anything else. ::)
I cannot handle the fact that my problem seems to have no cure.
It is really getting me down. Thanks for reading!
Angela.

for the patella tendon tendonitis I was told to do ice massage. Not comfortable, but it did help over time.
