When i cup my hands on my knee i also hear like a crunching sound , it hurts when i run sometimes or when i run up stairs for example. When i bend down and get up theres pain in both kneed same when i do squats ..Im a little bit overweight aswell this may be a problem .. Sorry to hear that you are having problems, but no-one here can actually help you. You need to see specialists, either an orthopaedic specialist or a sports physician.

Go to your GP and get a referral. A diagnosis can ONLY be made by someone who knows what they are doing and actually has you and your knee in front of them. The people here are predominantly only patients (there are one or two doctors and physiotherapists here but not many and not often).

Internet diagnosis is famous for having worried you sick that you have done something drastic when in reality all you need to do is maybe cut your toenails  ;)

Hi
A torn ACL has rather a different symptom set, focused predominantly on instability of the knee or feelings of the knee giving way. When the ACL tears, it often does so with a loud POP! followed by sudden and marked knee swelling. After that people often feel that they cannot trust the knee as it does not seem stable any more.

The sort of symptoms you are describing sound rather more like kneecap symptoms, which may often come on after an injury because of wasting of the quadriceps muscle, which normally helps the kneecap to align itself properly. Read up about simple quads strengthening exercises and see if that helps your symptoms.
