Title: Pain when crouching-meniscus?
Post by: jt801 on November 26, 2010, 03:41:29 AM
Recently i have started having pain on the outside back part of my left knee-it's most pronounced if i squat or crouch down or anytime my knee is fully bent. It feels similar to the articular cartilage damage that i suffered in my right knee (femoral condyle) in '08 but the pain occurs in different situations. I am wondering if i have developed a problem with my meniscus; really hoping it's not another articular cartilage lesion. Any input appreciated.

I have a very similar pain except mine is on the inside back part of my knee. The pain is at its worst when I fully bend the knee or if I bend or straighten the knee with my foot pointed out. I cant squat or crouch because of the problems I have with my other knee but Im pretty sure I would find it painful if I could!

I've had 2 MRI scans report that I have a horizontal tear of the medial meniscus but my previous OS didnt feel that 'clinically' it was a meniscus tear despite my symptoms being spot on! Long story short, I am now seeing another OS and am having another MRI on Monday to hopefully find out either way for sure.
