Title: New type of surgery... scope of total knee replacement
Post by: highland3 on April 06, 2010, 02:42:59 PM
I had bi-lateral knee replacement in Feb 09.  In October 09, I had surgery to remove scar tissue from around the patella (hypertrophic synovitis) on my left knee.  It is slow to recover and still causing me a lot of pain.  My surgeon is waiting for it to recover enough to support my right knee as it too needs the same surgery.

There is a new type of surgery (at least in Canada, it's new) where they scope artificial knees.  Aparently, this is a lot different procedure than scoping bone.  I am being referred to one of the very few doctors in Canada that do this surgery.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this done and what the success rate is?

Thanks

Chris

Chris I have not heard of this surgery but I am curious if you have the name of the doctor that you will be seeing?
