Title: Bone screws
Post by: BrookeColton on November 20, 2009, 10:57:36 AM
Hi all again I've posted previously about my recent LCL replacement. I'm now almost 5 weeks post op and getting movement back, I'm around 100 degrees now. But I have had this horrible shooting pain right where the 3 screws were placed to secure new ligament when I'm sitting down etc. Now  when I walk I get this horrible dull pain all the way down the outside of my right knee.
Does anyone know if I've done damage by walking too soon??? Isn't 6 weeks about the right time to weight bear???

This is something that you should ask your surgeon, he should have told you when it would be safe to begin weight bearing. This isn't something that you should assume its safe to walk and nobody except your surgeon is going to have the answer to this question.

Hi everyone it's been almost 2 weeks since I first had pain in my knee. I'm due to see the surgeon in 2 weeks but I was hoping someone might know if it's common for the 2nd operation on the same knee to be more painful, is that because of more scar tissue??

I would suggest that if you aren't seeing your OS for another 2 weeks you try and ring him/her and get some advice.

Everyone has different pains and issues after surgery and your OS is really the only person who is best placed to advise you.
