Title: No pain in my knee, but there's something there...
Post by: bgarkitekt on July 31, 2009, 09:14:53 PM
After playing 5 games in a football tournament last weekend I'm feeling something in my knee. Don't know how to describe it exactly. There's no pain, it just can't completely 100% straighten my leg out. I can straighten it about 99.5%. It feels like something is slightly inflamed or swollen in there that's causing this.

What's causing this? Over usage? How concerned should I be and should I see a doctor?

It may be inflamed.  If it were me I would RICE and see what I felt like after resting it.  Also try some slow gentle stretches.  It it didn't improve, I would see a doctor.

Wear a knee brace for a couple of weeks before you do any further damage.  DO NOT bend it if it does hurt when you do. I agree with Marcyc, RICE it.  Ice it for 15 minutes every 30 minutes for a a few hours but DON'T bend it.

Thank you for your comments. My knee does hurt when I bend it and it does not seem to be improving much from the original symptoms. I'm going to see my doctor asap. What do you guys think is the problem with my knee? Meniscus?
