Title: First Synvisc injection
Post by: Rhino on September 04, 2003, 07:41:41 PM
This is the first time i have ever had an injection of this type and i was wondering if it was normal for it to hurt so much. I mean it isnt agony but it is a constant throbbing. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or should i be worried??

thanks

Dear Rhino-

I have not had the injections myself, but I know that there are a lot of others here who have had them.  I have read a lot of their posts saying how painful they were.

You might try looking in the section "Knee Arthritis-Injections into the joint" section.  I'm sure you will find a lot of info there.

I think any kind of experience with Synvisc is pretty much normal. I didn't have a lot of pain after the shots but the last shot itself was excruciating. I never would have gone back if the first one hurt that bad. Hope you have better luck than I did, the shots didn't help at all.
