This just came through in my Google news alerts. Now you can get Syn Visc in one shot instead of multiple shots.

Thanks for the info! :D

Also the three shot synvisc is a lower density product than say orthovisc or supartz.
-
Plumb so does that mean the orthovics or spautz works better or should I say a stronger dose?
-
They are more expensive and really if your doctor is not into them... he won't offer alternatives to the brand he likes unless you bring up a dialog. You can google the shots by name brand and see that dose you get with supartz and orthovisc are thicker and more dense.
I call it my fix a flat. I get supartz every six months. Cortizone ever 3-4 months.
My OS said it is time for TKR when my pain levels are higher and cortizone does not last me at least 6 weeks.
Pain levels and ability.. and ofcourse. he always says.. I do not want you to get depressed.

How many cortizon shots have you had.

Last June, at the appointment where my then-OS told me he thought it was time to consider a PKR, he also gave me a cortiisone shot (I had had one previously in April maybe) and I was lucky if it lasted 4 weeks, which was another hint that I couldn't go on the way I was (and this was shortly after 5 SUpartz shots which did nothing).
