Title: 3 weeks post op on ACL snap in inner thigh
Post by: Sunshine99 on November 30, 2008, 06:31:27 PM
Hi - I am currently 3 weeks post op for acl replacement with an allograft from my hammy. I have been to physical therapy for 4 visits so far. Getting around with a brace and crutch. I was trying to take off my shoe from my bad leg by pushing it off with my opposing foot. Thats when something snapped in my inner thigh, felt like a snapping rubber band. After that really bad pain inside my thigh when i move wrong. Has anybody heard of this or has this happen to them??

Hi,
most likely given the graft you had (from your own hamstring right?) and the movement you were doing, you tweaked or tore the hamstring from where the graft was taken. as you had hamstring graft, you will be more susceptible to this, especially so early on in your recovery, when things are healing up from the surgery. make sure you tell your physio, and take it easy! i did something similar a couple of times doing things like bending over!

Hi Vicky, Thank you for your post. I am sure your right. It was more of an explanation than what i received from my doctor. They just brushed me off like i was wining and told me not to worry about it. The pain was so bad it brought me to the floor. I am going to take it easy and restart my rehab. Thanks again!

I had the same problem but mine was just scar tissue tearing.  It actually took away some pain.
