Title: going for my first mri scan

i am going for an mri scan  next friday morning the 12th of september  on my guide from the hospital it tells me to take cassettes or cd's   i was wondering can i take my ipod instead  not sure if the cds are played from outside the room  or whether i could take an ipod into the room also is there any advice on  what to do or what to take with me ?

any help would be appreciated

Since the mri is like a gigantic magnet I doubt you will be able to use your ipod, my first reaction is no.  I would call the hospital to make sure.

You won't be able to bring your iPod into the MRI machine with you. They probably have a CD player and some non-magnetic headphones that they let you use. One of the places I go has special goggles that project a screen image. They're connected to a DVD player so you can watch a movie. The goggles make it look like the screen is far away so you don't realize you're closed up in a tube if you're claustrophobic.
