Title: Stiff Knees
Post by: celticsfan on August 25, 2008, 12:31:25 AM
I just found this web site so please forgive me if I am asking this question in the wrong forum.

I recently started running again after about a 8 month layoff but now both of my knees are stiff. I don't have any pain but they never do loosen up during my run. I do not stretch before running but do for about 10 minutes or so after finishing my run. I have been running for at least 30 minutes for the last month on different surfaces.

In the past if I quit running for a week or so and went back to running again that has "cured" it but I really enjoy running and don't want to stop. I am 48 so maybe stiff knees are to be expected at my age. I am hoping someone has some suggestions for me to try.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I would definately stretch before running.  My PT was adament about warming up before any exercise.
