Just tried doing some lunges and again sharp pain, and also if i put a lot of weight or if i jump and land on that leg the same things happens. After looking at threads it may be the illio tibial any ideas anyone and advice, cheers,

Here you have some really good info about ITBS..
http://www.itbs.info/index.html
but the best is to first get this confirmed by a OS.
Meanwhile avoid everything that causes the pain.

Hi there,

Rather than seeing an OS first I would go to see a good sports physician. They will be able to give you some ideas on some treatment options. After many years of knee problems I've found my sports physician to be the first port of call.

Unfortunately most OS's will only know physio and surgery. However, a good sports physician will be able to give you all options and often have more ideas on what options are available in terms of conservative treatment.

Good luck !!!  ;)
