Title: Pain at the side of Knee
Post by: junkie80 on July 26, 2007, 03:15:33 AM
I have had an ACL recon in 2003 and a meniscus repair on my right in 2006. I have been quite active in strengthening my knee and maintaining my fitness. A few days ago i was jumping some rope and i after a couple of sets my right knee started feeling a sore and throbbing pain behind the knee. Since then, it has been rather sore and it hurts (along the lateral) when i attempt to squat down or. Anybody here has similar problem?? Im just worried that it is related to the meniscus...

Try cut back on exercising and RICE for some days and see if that helps.

I went to see my Orthopaedic specialist last week, he did some simple tests on my knee and told me that it is unlikely to be a meniscus tear... soreness improved abit...

funny thing is that i went back to playing some basketball but i still felt a niggling sore at the side of my knee, played awhile and sat out the rest of the game.. not sure abt it but i am quite tentative about sideways or pivoting actions involving that leg... wonder if it is due to muscles not strong enuff?? anybody with similar problems??
