Title: Bone Chips-should I be concerned?
Post by: Manf88 on July 31, 2006, 01:34:37 PM
Greetings!  I sustained an injury 2 weeks ago to my knees.  I attempted to catch someone falling off a 6 foot ladder.  He was approximately 210 pounds. (Not the smartest thing to do, but it was an emergency).  I broke his fall and the majority of the weight landed on my knees.  I (we) landed on a hard floor as well.  Obviously, my knees were swollen, a bit painful and bruised for several days.  However, now I notice that my left knee is still sore to the touch and I can feel/see something moving on the kneecap.  I am wondering if this could be a bone chip, or if it is just badly bruised and needs some more time to heal.  If it is a bone chip to the knee cap, do I need to see a doctor? Could it get worse--perhaps over time limit my range of motion (I am an advid runner/cycler/aerobic goo-ru)?  Don't want to run to the doctor if I do not need to.  And if I do need to see a doctor, should I go directly to a specialist?  Any input would be helpful!  Thanks!

I would really go and get it checked by a OS good on knees.
Do it as quick as you can, better be sure cause you can end up with big problems later on.
Meanwhile rest, elevate and ice your knee.
