Hi guys
I am on a mission to get as fit as possible before my ACLR
Suggestions for exercises???
At the moment I am mainly cycling and using yoga balancing exercises as strenthening excercises
I cant run as my leg is not stable enough
Is swimming reccomended?
Thanks guys :)

Hi, I just had ACLreconstruction done 3 weeks ago. Prior to the surgery I was still going to physio several times a week to prep for the surgery- Main goal was to have full extension and flexion prior to OR. Wrecked my ACL in Feb and had a minisectomy in March. So I needed to build up hamstring- definatelly need to do this especially if you are having a hamstring graft
- use low weights - and lots of reps each day
there is a website that covers some pre op prep - I saw it on a posting a few months ago
www.drmillet.com/image/59/acl.doc (http://www.drmillett.com/image/59/acl.doc)
so with all the prep, I had a fairly fast recovery, now 3 weeks post I have full extension and 130 degree flexion. Still week hamstrings and quads though.
All the best
Deb
