Title: Knee hair growth
Post by: HTOgirl on May 25, 2006, 10:22:42 PM
Hello everyone....I had a HTO two months ago and on the right side of my scar the once blonde hair is growing back jet black.....and it is only in that one small strip, anyone else heard of that before...I can handle the 10inch scar but the black hair is just nasty.
Thanks
Paula ???

Hi Paula,

How have you been making out with the recovry. I had the HTO done 8 weeks ago. Are you walking yet? I was placed on one crutch yesterday with fwb as tolerated. Still have swelling. No problems with the hair growing back on my leg. Where the icision is, I have this tingling sensation. PT said its the nerves coming back that were desensitized. (sp?)  Anyway, just curios to see how another person iis healing from all of this. Thnaks.       Matt

I am about 8 weeks out too and have been full weight bearing for 2 weeks. I was on crutches for  6 weeks and a cane for 1 week and now I am walking with nothing. I have a good limp and the swelling in my leg and foot depends on how active I am throughout day.  I am feeling alot better and have started to drive.  My knee is numb where the incision is...no tingling. Glad to hear you are doing well. Paula

Hi,

I thought it was just me!!! I had a knee op. 5 weeks ago and where my scars are my hairs are growing back a bit darker than they were before......weird!! They were really blonde before the op. Anyone know why? Maybe it's hair trauma!!!

Sez :)

Hi Paula

Same here. I went on a cane today and have been driving the last few days. I am so glad to have gotten rid of the crutches. Good luck w/ your recovery. Matt
